This course is designed as a basic course for beginning handgun owners. In this course, you will learn the NRA rules for safe gun handling, handgun parts and operation, ammunition differences, shooting fundamentals, cleaning the handgun, range rules, and basic shooting positions.

The class will include both classroom and range time, eight hours total.

10:00 am – 4:00 pm (but please check Schedule page for exact time).

What to bring:

- 150 rounds of ammunition (although it's always better to bring more)

- Pen
- Ear & Eye protection
- Snacks and a lunch
- Closed toe shoes

EXCELLENT

I had taken this class previously with another NRA instructor but didn't feel that I learned enough and was very uncomfortable still with using/carrying my pistol. I chose to retake the course and signed up with Dean at the RedBeard Report. I KNOW after previously taking the class how much the instructor, Dean, went ABOVE and BEYOND to teach the basics of pistol shooting. Not only does he have us go through the book, he has us do on-the-spot trainings using props. He takes 1:1 time with each person who needs additional help/practice on any particular thing we worked on. He was patient, answered and EXPLAINED every question. He didn't give up or move on from anyone who didn't get it up front. I've already referred 1 person who's signed up and will refer anyone else I know to him who wants yo take or needs this course. He's an ABOVE standard instructor. Anyone who takes his class will not be disappointed and feel very prepared to use their pistol when leaving. Thanks Dean!
